An estimated 13 million individuals in the U.S. have tried methamphetamines at least once in their lives, and there are an estimated 50 million users worldwide. Despite the frequent use of this drug, there are frightening side effects with methamphetamines. Also, the difficulties in treating methamphetamine addiction have been observed to create high instances of relapse. This overview of methamphetamine addiction evidence base practice will discuss the factors which contribute to the use of this drug and innovation in treatment. In addition, we will explore methamphetamine addiction evidence-based practice, the effects of methamphetamine use, and the most effective approaches currently used to treat methamphetamine addiction.
