Direct Support Professionals work as part of a team of health care providers. Because of this, they are involved in caring for patients, clients, or residents. In order to effectively provide high quality care, everyone on the care team must have basic knowledge of how the human body is organized. They must also be able to communicate with each other in an effective manner, without any miscommunications or misunderstandings. For this reason, the medical industry uses very specific terms and words to describe the human body and medical treatment. This course will give the Direct Support Professional a basic understanding of how the human body is organized and how it is described.
