As the saying goes, the only guarantee in life is change. The Theory of Evolution says that living organisms must adapt to environmental change if it is to survive as a species; it is no different for organizations. External forces constantly place pressure on organizations. When the pressure becomes high enough, the internal environment must change to adapt to the new paradigm. Leading large-scale organizational change is an important role that all leaders will fill, and they will do so using their entire arsenal of leadership concepts, like transformational, charismatic, and transactional leadership. This course discusses why and how organizational change occurs, and then it outlines several ways that leaders can successfully take their organization through change.
