In an effort to improve patient outcomes, health care providers around the country have implemented quality improvement measures to increase care coordination, patient safety, and preventive health services. The efforts of health care providers to implement quality improvement measures have been found to result not only in better care for at risk populations but also to enhance patient experiences throughout their care. Despite these efforts to improve patient experiences, critical incidents continue to be a significant occurrence in the nursing and medical field, including home health care settings. This course will provide an overview of critical incident reporting, discussing the circumstances when incident reports should be filled out.
