The human body is a complex machine, performing best when all its parts are healthy, doing what they are supposed to do. People constantly experience internal and external forces that threaten the body’s health, which can lead to disease and illness. Medical doctors diagnose diseases, then order a treatment plan to cure them. It is an important part of the Mental Health Technician's job to notice and report signs of disease in their patients, clients, and residents. They also play an important role ensuring their patients have the treatment and right care that best helps their natural body defenses to heal themselves. This course will teach current and future Mental Health Technicians how medical professionals classify and diagnose diseases and illnesses in order to prescribe a course of treatment for patients, residents, and clients.
