Abuse: An Overview for Nursing Assistants training course

The abuse of another person implies intention, maltreatment and the violation of their rights. Abuse occurs most commonly between family members, but it also occurs in work relationships and friendships. This course provides an overview of abuse, including definitions, populations affected, recognizing the signs of abuse, and reporting. For nurses working directly with patients, it is important to both recognize the signs of abuse, the populations at greatest risk for abuse, and know when concerns should be reported.
